Back to School

Well, even if it has been a wet one, summer as always goes so darn quickly.  Funny how as soon as the Month of August hits, I instantly start to go into "school" mode and what that all entails.   This fall will prove to be an interesting with the cutbacks that have occurred and what that will truly mean to children with exceptional needs in the school systems.  So many professionals/educators/parents, simply are not aware of the resources, tools and rights, which would allow so many to be empowered and work collaboratively together.

My hopes with this workshop on August 27th at Taylor College from 10-12pm in Edmonton, will allow all of us to hear what questions need to be asked and who we should be asking them to.

Our expert panel of guests are Danette Anderson, Supervisor of Leadership Services with Edmonton Public School Board,  Debbie Engel, Edmonton Catholic School Chair, Kathryn Burke, author of Accidental Advocate and owner/operator of www.ldexperience.ca and Wendy Sauve from Edmonton Regional Coalition for Inclusion ( ERC).

This panel will be facilitated by Jennifer Mitchell registered psychologist http://www.kindredkids.ca/index.html
